About Plain Ops and Nick
-
Plain Ops helps investor-backed and regulated teams optimize IT operations and increase delivery throughput by intentionally establishing the operating model: intake, ownership, queues, decision rights, and vendor lanes.
-
How I work: evidence first (tickets, changes, project flow, vendor handoffs, observation). I isolate the 2–3 constraints driving drag, then install a Wave 1 plan and a lightweight operating cadence your team can run.
-
What you get: clearer ownership, fewer handoffs and waiting states, more predictable change, and a metric set that matches operational reality.
-
What this is not: a tool-implementation project, performance grading, or an MSP handoff. Tools may come up only as they relate to queues, ownership, and operating rhythm.
-
Background: 20+ years in corporate IT, leading operations in regulated environments across financial services, insurance, and healthcare. Work spans infrastructure engineering, IT operations leadership, reliability, governance, and risk-informed delivery.
-
Plain Ops is intentionally small and operator-led. When specialist help is required, it’s added only when the work and budget justify it.
